Georgia O'Keeffe was a perfect artist to bring in the spring. Her stunning flowers, gorgeous skyscapes and shells from the sea get us excited for the warm weather to come. We concentrated on her technique of cropping or creating close-ups of nature and the children painted their own flowers using this unique style. Hope you enjoy, we certainly did!

ABC Ocean Collage
We put down our pencils and pastels and picked up our laptops. Using the computer program Comic Life, the students created a collage based on their research of underwater animal life. They had a blast learning a new program to create art.
Fall Collages
If you want to create a great project to welcome the fall, have your students hunt for beautiful leaves and use them for this colorful collage. Inspect the leaves, look at their veins, shapes and colors. You can make these using crayons, watercolors, pastels or any medium of your choice. This is a great lesson to teach the art of blending and mixing colors as well as using your medium to its fullest to establish the proper texture for your leaves. Enjoy, we did!

King Tut Mosaics
In my third grade class this week, we have been learning about King Tut. My students have been so excited about learning about this mummified Pharaoh that I decided to create an art project to go along with their research reports. They did a great job and I wanted to share them with you.
